Krispy Kreme's Angel Grove store threatened in augmented reality Power Rangers experience
Glazed doughnut specialists Krispy Kreme has entered into a promotional partnership with Lionsgate for the release of the upcoming release of Saban’s Power Rangers.

Power Rangers augmented reality before and after the destruction
Underlining the partnership is the outlet’s first ever digital shop, located in the fictional city of Angel Grove where the movie is set.
The experience is packed with Easter Eggs to the movie and showcases the new line of special edition Power Rangers doughnuts, available in the US and Canada for a limited time.

The experience, designed for optimal use with a virtual reality headset plays like a passive investigation video game.
Throughout the outlet are clues to the whereabouts of the Rangers and background lore to help set the stage for the reboot.
“We have teamed up with Lionsgate to promote the Power Rangers film in a way that allows fans to experience Krispy Kreme in a totally new, unexpected way,” said Jackie Woodward, chief marketing officer of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.
“The virtual opening of Krispy KremeAngel Grove comes with the same passion and excitement experienced with a traditional Krispy Kreme shop grand opening.”
The activity builds upon an augmented reality challenge in Australia, and back in the UK, a partnership with radio station Kiss.
Furthermore, an unofficial campaign from Twitch is streaming all 23 seasons of the show in the run up to the movie's launch.
Power Rangers will be available in theatres 24 March. Watch the official trailer below.
