The Drum Arms

The Drum Arms will throw open its doors on Monday 20 March and will be located at 15 Denman Street, a short stroll from Advertising Week's Picturehouse Central venue in Piccadilly.

As well as getting to have a drink with The Drum's award-winning editorial team in their natural habitat, visitors to the pub will enjoy a packed schedule of free entertainment throughout the week – from the Great Alcohol Marketing Debate featuring major drinks brands to a marketing industry game of Would I Lie to You?

The venue will also play host to the launch party for The Drum's new global edition, with pub patrons able to get their hands on our exciting new print issue as soon as it rolls off the presses.

To come along to a session, all you have to do is register for a free ticket at The Drum Arms website. Here's what we have planned:

Meet The Drum | Monday 20 March 10am - 11.30am

There’s a lot going on at The Drum, and 2017 is set to be our biggest year yet.

Hosted by The Drum’s co-founder Gordon Young, we’d like to invite you for a late breakfast at The Drum Arms where we'll be unveiling The Drum's new global magazine and revealing our plans for it in the year ahead.

This is a great way to learn more about The Drum, meet key members of the editorial team, and tell us all about the projects you are working on too.

Time’s Up: Mobile Marketing Panel | Tuesday 21 March 9am - 10am

To quote Sir Martin Sorrell: “Mobil’s a multi-billion dollar opportunity still untapped.” So isn’t it time we dropped the excuses.

As an industry we are trying to slow down investment in mobile advertising while consumers marched on with mobile, specifically mobile video, predicted to reach 78% of blobal mobile data traffic by 2021.

We discuss why we are throwing away the mobile excuses book and debating the opportunities or common excuses around creative, planning, measurement, apps and many more.

How to Win Awards | Tuesday 21 March 12pm - 1pm

Back due to popular demand, The Drum Awards will be hosting an awards workshop as an exclusive event that will give you access to judges and previous winners where you will have the chance to ask them anything.

Places are limited though with only 40 seats available.

Benchmarking in the bar | Tuesday 21 March 2pm - 3pm

How often should your agency be winning new business pitches? How much should you be charging an hour? How much do you expect to grow in the coming year? What impact has Brexit had on agencies like yours?

Join the RAR and The Wow Company to find out the answers to all those questions and how you compare against other agencies.

The great alcohol marketing debate | Wednesday 22 March 9am - 10am

With alcohol being one of the most significant products marketing today as an estimated £800m is spent each year in the UK alone, we find out how the brands feel about also being one of the most policed sectors when it comes to how, when and where is can adverstise.

Hosted by Natalie Mortimer, senior creative reporter at The Drum, the event will look at the regulations brands face from both Portman Group and the ASA when it comes to the future of alcohol marketing.

Let’s get personal: creating experiences customers love | Wednesday 22 march 12pm- 2pm

Consumers today live their lives seamlessly across multiple devices, channels and platforms.

The days of mass marketing are over, consumers today demand the experiences provided by the brands they love to be authentic, personalised and seamlessly cross-platform.

Is the age of gender-orientated magazines over? Thursday 23 March | 10am - 11am

In a world where gender topics have slowly risen to the top of the national agenda, Joe Media, The Pool and i-D will come together to discuss the challenges and virtues of having a gender-orientated brand.

Hosted by The Drum’s media reporter, Jess Goodfellow, we will also discuss what an online magazine strategy looks like and how to remain at the top in an industry that takes no prisoners.

The Drum Network does Would I Lie To You? Thursday 23 march | 4pm - 6pm

“Did she really win a six figure deal off the back of one press release?”

“Did Usain Bolt really give him a Nike trainer as a souvenir after a TV shoot in South Africa?”

These are just some of the questions you will be murmuring in hushed tones at The Drum Network's attempt to recreate hit TV show Would I Lie To You. All tales of scandalous industry related truths (or lies?) will be revealed at this session.

'Contestants' so far include former Sunshine MD Nadya Powell, well known creative director Billy Mawhinney, Chapter boss Mike Rose and MD of design firm Whippet Carla Heath.

We would love you to take part. Pints and pies on us.
