iCrossing, the Hearst-owned digital marketing agency with offices in London and Brighton, has appointed Phil Burgess as its first chief growth officer in the UK. Burgess officially joins the agency later this month.

Burgess has extensive agency and client experience, with previous roles including managing director of 360i Europe, client services director at Steak, as well as time at SixandCo, Dare, Modem and Profero.

In his new role as iCrossing’s CGO, Burgess will be responsible for bringing marketing and new business together with a remit to grow new business revenue and accounts.

iCrossing’s UK chief executive officer, Mark Iremonger, said: “Phil has great experience and a reputation built over many years. I’m delighted to welcome him to the UK executive leadership team in this newly created role that helps us achieve our ambition to be the marketing agency for a modern world.”

Commenting on his appointment, Burgess said: “This is an exciting move. I’ve been impressed with the smart people at iCrossing. They understand the changing dynamic between consumers and brands and the need to generate meaningful interactions. Being part of content giant Hearst, coupled with iCrossing’s heritage in integrated digital services, provides a unique opportunity to produce some truly progressive work for clients and I wanted to be a part of that. I’m looking forward to getting our message out into the market place.”

iCrossing UK operates offices in London and Brighton and works with clients including M&S, L’Oreal, Barclays, Heathrow and Visit Wales.
