The Drum has partnered with IBM iX to create a series of films during Mobile World Congress (MWC) exploring how mobile is driving disruption across businesses.

On the first day of the show, The Drum talked to IBM iX, digital agency Aperto, and Panasonic to discuss how they are leveraging mobile technologies to digitally reinvent their business models for the future.

At IBM iX, Matt Candy, vice president and European leader spoke about the massive disruption going on in industries and why now is the best time for creators and developers to take advantage of the digital transformation age.

"This disruption means that organisations need to become more agile in how they experiment with mobile technology, and experiment with building different experiences for their consumers and employees," he said.

Panasonic’s marketing director Stephen Yeo spoke about shifting the consumer’s mindset on how they traditionally perceive mobile by opening their eyes to the possibilities of connectivity in cars and devices.

"Mobile is going to revolutionise business-to-business and the things that machines can do. It’s going to introduce connectivity to devices and machines and also make them mobile," said Yeo.

Daniel Simon, chief creative officer at Aperto spoke about his excitement for “the connection of everything” and the potentials of artificial intelligence being connected to broader services.

Discussing how they are using mobile to fuel the future of business are Matt Candy, vice president and European leader at IBM iX, Daniel Simon, chief creative officer at Aperto, and Stephen Yeo, marketing director at Panasonic.
