ChargeItSpot, the leading provider of cell phone charging stations for retailers, events and public venues has launched QuickPoll, a shopper insights platform enabled through the company’s in-store charging stations nationwide.

The platform is being used by companies like Neiman Marcus who can capitalize on the dying cell phones of customers and their need to find a place to charge up.

The Philadelphia-based company, which charges more than two million mobile devices annually, expects that the new survey feature will help retailers gauge how a customer has viewed their shopping experience after they finish using a charging station.

Retailers are using QuickPoll to gauge customer satisfaction at the store level by asking the consumer questions that allow them to look at differences in responses by store (i.e, store A is outperforming store B by 15%) and over time (i.e., store A has improved by 20% over the last three months), according to Doug Baldasare, CEO, ChargeItSpot.

Other retailers use QuickPoll as a way to learn more about their customers' relationship with their brand. They ask questions ranging from "Do you have our mobile app?" to "What product category are you here to shop today?".

To date, ChargeItSpot has seen a 70-90% completion rate of the QuickPoll surveys.

One mall operator has collected over 3,700 responses in just one week from the 24 charging stations they have deployed.

"QuickPoll is a feature that we offer to all of our clients for free, included with the ongoing monthly fee they pay to have the ChargeItSpot in their stores," Baldasare said. "The clients own the data and are able to access it in real time. We do not disclose publicly how much our monthly fee is to the retailer."

ChargeItSpot’s cell phone charging stations have been integrated in a large variety of commercial spaces, ranging from stores and malls to casinos, hospitals and arenas, allowing a range of brands to collect consumer information. ChargeItSpot serves clients such as Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Under Armour, Uniqlo, Westfield Malls, Caesars Entertainment, Verizon Wireless, Dell, and dozens of other customer-centric brands.
