Leading Netherlands arthouse film distributor Cinéart appoints LikeFriends to strategic task

The new website created by LikeFriends for Cineart

The home of arthouse film in the Netherlands, Cinéart, has looked to Amsterdam-based agency LikeFriends to re-define the independent film distributor’s strategic direction and brand.

LikeFriends has kicked off the relationship by designing and creating a new online presence for Cinéart, which now offers a seamless experience that enhances Cinéart’s beautiful cinematic content, including trailers, news and in-depth information on every film in their portfolio, as well as easy-to-download press kits.

Fusing the worlds of cinema and web into one immersive experience, www.Cineart.nl, graphically showcases Cinéart’s portfolio to potential film industry clients and also to private consumers.

Speaking of the project Marc Smit, co-CEO of Cinéart, said: “Cinéart is about bringing out the best in cinema, and this new website is a tremendous contribution to that end. Not only does it deliver a smooth experience but the website also allows our films, what Cinéart is all about, to play the leading role”.

“We chose LikeFriends because of their strong strategic and creative approach and social media excellence. They developed our website, but also supported us in shaping the future of our brand. Happy with the process, more than happy with the result”.

Stef de Jong, managing director at LikeFriends, said: “We share Cinéart’s passion for film and used our experience in brand positioning and strategy to redefine their outlook. The first execution in this collaboration is the launch of their new brand website”.

“We often develop websites for our clients, but Cinéart really allowed us to explore how to complement great web design and UX with an arthouse look and feel. One area where this shows is the leading role for photography and video in the online experience”.

The agency is now working on creating a new online presence to support Cinéart’s strategic objectives in Belgium with cineart.be launching soon.
