This week has seen another wave of appointments and departures at brands, media owners and agencies. The Drum has rounded up the key moves from the EMEA, APAC and North America regions below.

EMEA

​TalkTalk

TalkTalk chief executive Didio Harding has stepped down after seven years in the job.

The boss will be replaced by current managing director Tristia Harrison, while longtime employee Charles Blingh will take up the role of chief operating officer. Both have been on the TalkTalk board since 2014.

Exterion Media

Exterion Media has announced the appointment of Simon Worthington to newly created role of group director of commercial initiatives, mergers and aquisitions.

Joining from Hearst Magazines International, where he worked with over 60 join ventures across 70 counties, Worthington will work across the company to assess opportunities in both current and new markets.

The Drum

Ed Vaizey, the pre-Brexit government’s minister of state for culture, communications and sport, has joined The Drum as a columnist.

Published today (30 January), his first opinion piece covers what the industry needs to do to make sure Brexit works in its favour.

BBC

Sarah Sands, editor of the Evening Standard, will become the editor of BBC Radio 4’s Today programme.

Sands will replace Jamie Angus, who was recently appointed deputy director of the BBC World Service.

She will leave the Evening Standard later this year and until then will remain in post as editor. A new editor will be appointed in due course, the publisher said.

​Havas Worldwide

Andrew Benett has announced he shall be stepping down as global creative chief at Havas Worldwide.

In his absence, chariman and chief executive, Yannick Bolloré, has said he will step in to take over from Benett's responsibilities.

GroupM

GroupM has announced that Mindshare UK chief operating officer Paul Rowlinson will take up the role of managing director at the group's data and ad tech unit mPlatform.

Rowlinson has 22 years’ experience in the industry and has been at Mindshare for 13 of them, originally joining as head of investment and working his way up to his most recent role.

In his new position he will work closely with Alex Stil, president of mPlatform in the EMEA region to lead the team and work alongside media partners and clients.

PubMatic

PubMatic appointed Emma Newman, formerly vice president of international marketing, to the role of country manager for the UK.

In her new role, Newman is tasked with growing PubMatic in the UK, while developing new premium publisher relationships with a particular focus on growing and monetising mobile and video inventory as well as helping them navigate ad decisioning tools such as header bidding and wrapper tags.

She will remain in the company’s London office and report to Bill Swanson, PubMatic’s vice president of EMEA.

Latimer

Co-creation agency Latimer has appointed Carly Lucas and Richard Staplehurst as senior partnerships manager and partnerships manager respectively. Both will report to the director of partnerships and marketing Simon Voysey as the agency looks to build on momentum that saw it double in size in the last year following its latest investment round.

Lucas joins from from media and entertainment giant Global, while Staplehurst was at The Official Charts Company

Hangfast

Hangfast has appointed Matthew Stafford as creative lead.

With over two decades of industry experience, Stafford will join with immediate effect as the main contact with regards any customer design query.

Maxus UK

Alex Debenham-Burton has been appointed as head of video at Maxus UK.

Joining from MediaCom, where he has spent the last two decades, Debenham-Burton previously worked as group investment director following his promotion in 2009.

In his new role, Debenham-Burton will be responsible for video and investment across the agency.

Publicis Communications

Publicis Communications has named Alexander Peiterson as chief executive of the Nordics region.

Peiterson joined the agency in 2001 and was previously chief executive of Publicis in Denmark, however will start his new role effective immediately.

72andSunny Amsterdam

Simon Moessinger has been promoted to creative director at 72andSunny Amsterdam.

Moessinger joined the agency in 2015 and has since worked on global work for Google, Benetton and Samsung.

In her new role, she will work to further create cultural work for an array brands.

DCMN

Michael Dunlop has joined DCMN as creative director.

With over 15 years' industry experience, Dunlop will focus on creation as well as in-house production.

The hire is part of a bigger strategic shift for DCMN’s creative leadership, which also includes the creation of new positions for executive director creation and production, Katrin Kolossa, and head of production, Vanessa Zimmermann.

Fold7

Fold7 has appointed Jamie Craven as head of design.

Hvaing previously held the same role at Havas Worldwide London, Craven will get straight to work with clients including Gumtree, Audible and Hilton, reporting directly to executive creative director, Simon Learman.

Beattie

Alison Clarke has been appointed as chairman of Only Marketing, Beattie's specialist marketing brand.

The announcement follows the appointment of Kevin Roberts, who announced the addition to the team, as chairman of the company and will see Clarke start with immediate effect.

Summit

Summit has announced Kristina Kalpokaite as head of paid media.

In her new role, Kalpokaite will involve developing strategies for paid media across both existing and new retailers while supporting innovation within Forecaster.

Prettybird

Prettybird has signed multi award winning director Tom Noakes.

Best known for his diverse comedy reel, Tom is ultimately charged by cinema and storytelling and has previously worked on films for brands like Doritos and Foxtel.

APAC

Mindshare

Mindshare has appointed Charlotte Lee has regional client leader, taking charge of the HSBC account across APAC.

Lee is taking over from sAm Slleck, who will move back to London to run Mindshare's global Nestle account.

Y&R Indochina

Y&R Indochina has bolstered its team with three new appointments seeing Mohit Pse as general manager, Milla Chaplin as strategic planning director and Khin Myas Thu promoted to chairwoman.

The three will now foruc on Y&A Yangon's client base as well as new business opportunies in sub-regions.

DigitasLBi

DigitasLBi has announced a number of hires as it continues to expand its senior team.

Ben McAdney has joined as business director for APAC, Reevi Rajan as director of analytics for APAC, Alan Kirk as senior media manager and Vinay Devarapalli as senior media planner.

NORTH AMERICA

Harbor Picture Company

Harbor Picture Company has appointed Corey Stewart as chief technology officer.

With over 20 years experience, Stewart will work to advance the technology of the company and evolve the artistry and technology platform.

Stewart will report directly to Zak Tucker, founder of Harbor.

Mediabrix

David Cohn has been appointed as vice president of East Coast sales for Mediabrix.

Cohn joins from Ranker after ten years and will be responsible for cultivating current brand partnerships and driving new relationships.
