Twitter enjoys record-breaking numbers with Inauguration Day livestream
Over the past year, Twitter has been focusing on livestreaming partnerships and products, and the efforts have paid off.

The joint Twitter-PBS Newshour Inauguration Day livestream reached 6,824,000 million unique viewers (peaking at 377,000 concurrent viewers), making it the social platform's most-viewed livestream to date. Before Inauguration Day, the most-viewed Twitter livestream was BuzzFeed and Twitter’s election night coverage.
Inauguration Day was a top global trend on Twitter with 12 million tweets sent on the day related to the event.
Twitter partnered with a variety of news organizations, including CBS News, during the election to livestream major live events including both conventions, all four presidential debates, and election night. Election day was the most-tweeted day of the presidential campaign, with more than 75 million global election-related tweets sent.
