Manchester City, FC Barcelona and more among Euro teams to unveil bespoke Snapchat lenses

Snapchat has rolled out a series of bespoke Lenses for premier European football teams which let fans apply real-time filters to their selfies to showcase support.

13 of the top sides from England, France, Germany, Spain and Italy will look to encourage fans to use the geo-specific Lenses to 'paint' their face in their team's colours and play ball.

The likes of Liverpool, Juventus, Atletico, Arsenal and Manchester City are among those who will make use Snapchat's technology, with the Lenses being activated in stadiums across Europe.

"There are over 50 million daily Snapchatters in Europe and many are football fans," said Ben Schwerin, vice-president of partnerships at Snap Inc, in statement.

"Neymar at Barca, David Alaba at Bayern, Hector bellerin at Arsenal, Cesc Fabregas at Chelsea, Mario Goetze at BVB, and Raheem Sterling at Man City are just a few of the players using our service to share behind the scenes moments with the world.

"These new lenses give fans a dynamic, fun way to get in on the action and show support for their team."

Just last month Man City acquired a pair of Snap's elusive spectacles, making it the first Premier League club to use the device on matchdays to offer supporters exclusive content from a first-person point-of-view.
