Wyatt will lead on all commercial activities and digital operations. He will report directly to Ella Dolphin, chief executive at Shortlist Media, and join the Shortlist Media board of directors. He begins his new role in March.

Wyatt joined CNN in 2014 as director of content and brand partnerships, EMEA, later taking on the role as head of ad sales for its UK operation. Prior to this he was head of content at Base79, one of the industry’s first YouTube multi-channel networks, and global head of video at Reuters.

Dolphin said: “The managing director, commercial role will be critical for us as we build on our success and develop the business for the future. Owen’s experience, track record of success and enthusiasm for Shortlist’s potential made him the perfect choice. I am incredibly excited to work with Owen and look forward to building the business with him.”

Wyatt added: “Shortlist Media has an exciting blend of startup culture and the discipline of a long-established business, which, in my new role, provides untold potential for growth and huge opportunity for the commercial side of the business. I can’t wait to get started, and join the team.”

Owen’s appointment follows the recent announcement of Sophie Robinson as chief marketing officer at Shortlist Media, joining from her former role as creative director at Metro.
