Vodafone awards ad account to Ogilvy & Mather

Vodafone has picked Ogilvy & Mather London to replace Grey London as its lead advertising agency in the UK.

The agency will become the lead in the UK part of Team Red, the global division of WPP created to handle the telecommunication’s giant’s ad business. It will work alongside fellow WPP-agency MEC, which won Vodafone’s media business last year, from WPP’s offices at Sea Containers on London’s South Bank.

BT Group has brought aboard independent digital agency AnalogFolk to handle its digital content, following a competitive pitch process.

From its London office, it will handle the telecom firm’s wider digital content strategy, including how it is utilised by the core BT brand through owned and paid channels, including website, social and CRM. The agency will come together with existing BT agencies AMV and Maxus to deliver the work.

Sloggi, the underwear brand that’s part of the Swiss-based Triumph Group, has appointed the MullenLowe Group as its global agency of record ahead of a marketing push to reaffirm its place in the bodywear category.

After a competitive pitch, the MullenLowe Group pulled together talent from across its group of agencies to build a fully integrated team for Sloggi. The global hub will be run out of the London office, with key regional support in Germany, France, Hong Kong and Japan.

The Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) has tapped J. Walter Thompson Singapore to drive recruitment, and to lead integrated marketing, communications and events to mark the Navy’s 50th anniversary in 2017.

J. Walter Thompson will partner with AsiaPRwerkz and Mindshare on a jubilee campaign to celebrate “RSN50”, which includes a series of events, activations and advertising executions to celebrate the Navy’s achievements and pay tribute to its members. JWT will also create a recruitment campaign to get more young Singaporeans to enlist.

Standard Chartered has awarded Carat its global media account, with strategy, planning and buying being headed up from the Dentsu Aegis agency’s Singapore office.

According to Carat, the win comes after a competitive pitch. It is understood to have taken over six months to complete and saw OMD taken off the shortlist early on.

Flight Centre Travel Group has appointed Rooster PR to manage Flight Centre and StudentUniverse UK PR programmes following a competitive pitch.

Bakeshop chain Red Ribbon has appointed BBDO Guerrero as its agency-of-record, to develop Red Ribbon’s integrated marketing communications campaigns that will roll out in 2017. BBDO Guerrero pitched against five other agencies.

Reliant, a Houston-based electricity retailer, has named integrated advertising and marketing agency Y&R Austin as its agency of record, after a competitive account review.

Y&R Austin is tasked with driving brand awareness and consideration for Reliant among Texans in competitive markets, as Reliant moves into home security and services, solar power, portable power, backup generators and more.

The Braid Bar, based in Selfridges’ Beauty Workshop, has appointed The Fashion Digital to handle its social media.

Cox Automotive, whose UK consumer brands include car search portal and online car buying service, has appointed Jellyfish as its paid search partner in the UK.

The appointment follows a competitive pitch in which Cox Automotive looked to consolidate its paid search activity into one agency. As the incumbent for, Jellyfish will now manage the paid search accounts across Cox Automotive consumer brands in the UK.

The Proactiv Company owned skincare brand Proactiv+ has appointed Label PR to manage all UK influencer outreach, press and publicity - as well as appointing the agency’s social media division to handle all social channels for the brand. Label PR won the account following a competitive pitch.
