uSwitch unveil new brand identify with campaign fronted by its new coach character

Price comparison service uSwitch has introduced a motivational coach character for its latest campaign encouraging more people to switch their energy and broadband supplier.

The 'Yes U Can’ campaign marks the unveiling of the brand's new logo identity, and brand slogan, ‘Switching made simple’ and is the first work from agency Brothers and Sisters since it won the uSwitch advertising account in November.

The ‘Yes U Can’ line is promoted through the coach character who has been inspired by 80s style sports films and will feature in the brand's marketing activations throughout 2017.

The campaign is based on insights from Brothers and Sisters which found that people suffer from ‘action paralysis’ when it comes to switching. Many people know that they could benefit from switching but feel it will be more hassle than it actually is.

The campaign kicks off with two 30-second ads, one focusing on uSwitch’s energy switching service and the other on its broadband price comparison. The ads will also be edited to run as 10-second spots.

Iain Hildreth, uSwitch marketing director, said: “We’re hoping that by showing how easy it is, our new uSwitch Coach will help inspire millions more of them to switch and benefit from lower energy bills and a better broadband deal in 2017.”

Matt Charlton, the chief executive of Brothers and Sisters, added: “We believe the uSwitch Coach could become a hero for helping even more people save money – the happy ending we all want in 2017”.
