Creative Work of the Week: Age UK and Drum spread 'No one should have no one at Christmas' message
Age UK has won European Creative Work of the Week with its campaign highlighting what a difficult time Christmas can be for older people, launching two short films starring James Bolam and Miriam Margolyes.
Following research showing almost one million people over the age of 60 feel lonelier at Christmas, the films show the actors narrating real-life stories of loneliness to support Age UK’s ‘No one should have no one at Christmas’ campaign.
The poignant films, created by Drum, tell the real stories of Roy and Janet, who are supported by Age UK’s telephone befriending service which provides weekly friendship calls.
