Barcelona extend their Asian sponsorship drive after partnering with Chinese bank

Barcelona are continuing their sponsorship push into Asia after partnering with Chinese financial services company Shanghai Pudong Development Bank Credit Card Centre (SPDBCCC).

The deal is the latest in a series of Asian sponsorships for the club

The deal sees SPDBCCC become a regional sponsor of the La Liga club in China as well as the official bank and credit card partner.

Under the agreement, the bank will create specific Barcelona branded credit cards which will launch in China, excluding Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

The SPD Bank – Barça Dream Team Cards will feature up to four different Barcelona designs including the Catalan club’s logo, players, the Camp Nou stadium and one with player signatures.

The partnership will also be promoted through gift offers for SPDBCCC customers such as Bluetooth speakers, sports bags and water bottles.

The partnership is expected to cover the remainder of the current season and as well as the 2017-18 campaign.

Barcelona has accelerated its push into Asia recently having agreed a new shirt sponsorship deal with Japanese e-commerce firm Rakuten. The club also partnered with sports and entertainment company Mission Hills Group and technology, content and services company BNN Technology and announced Konami as its official gaming partner.
