Havas Chicago has added Laura Terry to its rank as the chief marketing officer. Coming from the Omnicom agency Martin Williams in Minneapolis, Terry will lead the development and implementation of growth initiatives and will oversee the marketing and public relations teams for the Havas Chicago Group, which has clients such as Citi, Cracker Barrel and Sears.
Terry’s experience includes work with Target, Payless, E*trade, Thrivent and Lincoln Financial; and sports brands, Bauer and Minnesota Wild. Terry will take over the position left by chief growth officer Laura Maness who was promoted to president of Havas New York.
“We’ve worked hard over the last three years to build a modern marketing and creative agency with a new arsenal of very cool and innovative offerings,” said Paul Marobella, CEO of the Havas Chicago Group, in a statement. “Our goal is to let the world know what we can bring to their brands so they can create new value for their organizations. Laura has a great blend of traditional, digital, social and data experience that fits the mold of our Village model here at Havas and she immediately understood what makes us different.”
During the midst of the election, Havas Chicago partnered with Hefty to “trash” political ads with ad blocking advertisements to clean up the internet.
In October, the agency also debuted its second annual physical installation around breast cancer awareness. Through the #CheckYoSelf campaign, Havas Chicago brought oversized breasts to the windows in the Near North neighborhood.
