If swiping left or right on your iPhone wasn’t good enough, Tinder has stepped it up a notch and will now be available on Apple TV via Apple’s Siri Remote.
Announced through a series of new ads, including one with two young women swiping from their couch, the entire campaign shows potential users what their swipes could look like. Whether that means swiping while mom reads the newspaper, or while grandma naps on the couch, Tinder shows its demographic — which seems to be millennials — how access on AppleTV is going to change the dating app game.
In a blog post from “your friends at Tinder,” the company said that, “Bringing people together is what we do, and we’re even more excited to be able to combine all the joys of swiping with all the comforts of home. Enjoy Tinder on Apple TV—it’s the biggest thing to hit family night since Yahtzee.”
In an effort to continue to grow its base, through this campaign, Tinder is showing how its services can be used by the entire family.
“No phones at the dinner table? No problem,” they said. “Now you can spot Swipe Right potential from across the room. Need a second opinion before you Super Like? Good news: the cousins from Omaha just rolled in. Plus, why swipe alone when you can let Aunt Donna have a say? She’s known you since you were two; she’s watched you grow. If she says you should Swipe Right on that nice girl in the penguin costume, you Swipe Right on that nice girl in the penguin costume. Seriously man, show Aunt Donna some respect.”
The Apple TV platform itself had some interesting news in 2016. In November, Facebook announced that it will expand its advertising network and will deliver ads on streaming video platforms including Apple TV and Roku. Twitter got in on the streaming platforms and released apps for Amazon Fire, Apple TV and Xbox One, which will feature all live streaming available on Twitter, including 10 NFL Thursday Night Football games, which were announced in September.
