Pokemon Go addicts are being encouraged to add caffeine to their list of compulsive habits through a new partnership between the monster hit and coffee chain Starbucks.

The ubiquitous coffee company is introducing 7,800 gyms and Pokestops across its US estate, in-game hotspots where players can snag and rear rare virtual creatures whilst supping a Venti Pokemon Go edition Frappuccino.

Retailers, restaurants and other businesses have been clamoring to partner with the Naintic-produced title in the hope that some of its legions of players can be converted into paying customers, with McDonald’s transforming 3,000 of its Japanese outlets into gameplay hubs.

That trend is continuing apace with Niantic and Sprint agreeing to turn 10,500 Sprint, Boost Mobile and ‘Sprint at RadioShack’ stores across the US into PokeStops and Gyms.

To maintain interest in the game a raft of new Pokemon are to be revealed ready for in-game capture from Monday.
