Now in their 11th year, the awards look to celebrate the best marketers and campaigns in the business. They are open to creative shops, in-house teams, design consultancies, digital agencies, PR firms and more across categories such as Global Brand Strategy of the Year, Best Use of VR and Sports Marketing Strategy of the Year.

Submissions will be judged by a panel of senior marketers from the world's best known brands. Some of the names joining the panel this year are: Cindy Tervoort marketing director at Heineken; Team GB’s head of marketing Leah Davis; Karen Staughton, UK marketing director, Spotify; CNN’s vice-president of its branded content arm Create James Hunt as well as other luminaries from the NFL, Unilever, Google and more.

Last year, names like NHS Blood and Transplant, Women's Aid, OMD UK and Jaguar took home trophies.

Agencies and brands looking to enter the awards have until 17 February 2017 to do so. The winners will be announced at a black-tie event in London’s Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel on 30 May 2017.

The 2017 international launch follows on from our first stateside award ceremony last year, The Drum Digital Trading Awards US. Over the past two years, The Drum’s team has also grown in the North America and APAC regions as part of a global expansion.

The Drum’s managing director of events, Lynn Lester said: "Following The Drum's global footprint, The Drum Marketing Awards will also be be inviting entries from across the entire world.

"The awards now holds reign as one of the biggest events in our portfolio and by opening up the accessibility for people to enter it means that for finalists; the kudos, promotion and fame will be significant across many continents. This is the one event where an all-marketer jury is compiled and many top brands are engaged in the event already - I can't wait to work with them on next year's program."

This year, sponsors of the Marketing Awards include Tint, The Drum’s Recommended Agency Register (RAR), and The Drum Network.
