The Dutch brewery enlisted the WPP-owned company following a competitive pitch. The agency will now be tasked with leading the firm's digital marketing transformation by placing the channel at the heart of its global efforts.
Wunderman Amsterdam will work together with local agencies in key markets including the United Kingdom, Canada, France and Argentina to connect the brand with a premium beer drinking audience.
Grolsch’s global brand director Ronald van Amerongen said of the news: "We are delighted to appoint Wunderman Amsterdam as our global digital partner. The team has already shown great strategic insight in how to create compelling, relevant content around social beer occasions, as well as how to make Grolsch an iconic brand in the ever-changing global digital landscape."
Grolsh has been looking to heighten its digital offerings over the year or so, investing in its own content platform called Canvas to sustain its credibility and engage creative customers.
Earlier this year it partnered with Dutch jean brand Denham, as part of a wider strategy to align the brand with craft and creatives.
