Midlands-based creative technology agency Connect Group is to end 2016 by creating 30 new jobs across its two offices in Wolverhampton and Birmingham.

Connect currently employs 130 people across its two sites working with major blue-chip companies such as Jaguar Land Rover, Birmingham Airport and Bentley. Many of the new roles being created are to be focused on software development to support the agency in delivering cutting-edge technology solutions that deliver the best results.

The expansion comes on the back of a number of new business wins and the delivery of a number of interesting projects for a variety of clients such as Finning International, GRS Roadstone, Alliance Healthcare and Marstons.

One of the agency’s most notable campaigns of the year saw them create Defender Journeys – a social media campaign to mark the end of production of the iconic Land Rover Defender. The site went live on the last day of Defender production and the first journey was submitted four hours later. 111 journeys were submitted and approved within the first 22 days of the campaign.

The Connect Group team have also supported the global consolidation of Finning’s three regional websites into one fully responsive, CMS driven website. Connect have not only supported the authoring of this site but were also commissioned to photograph Finning's Canadian, South American and UK facilities, products and customers over a four week period. In preparation for this photography suite, Connect developed a consistent brand identity of all website imagery to reinforce a new One Finning approach to customer support.

Reflecting on the ever-changing technology landscape and the reason for Connect’s jobs boost, Jose Espinosa, partner at Connect, said: “Gone are the days where creating a digital marketing strategy simply meant building a website or having a social presence. Technology is all around us all of the time. The pace at which it is developing is extraordinary and the impact it is having on our lives is growing every single day. Brands are beginning to recognise this.

“It’s our job at Connect to help our clients battle through this minefield to ensure they’re using the right technology that results in a more intimate customer experience and ultimately delivers a better return on investment.”

Head of HR at Connect, Tracey Knowles, added: “It’s a great time to work in this industry and it’s a great time to work at Connect. As the lead technology partner for Jaguar Land Rover, our development team are constantly working on amazing, innovative projects. We are one of a handful of businesses that adopt a fully agile working methodology, allowing us to collaborate with both our clients who inspire our ideas and our colleagues that bring them to life.

“Teamwork is what makes us work and we are looking for the sort of people that get excited about technology. Curious collaborators that not only want to work with cutting edge technologies but want to be part of a team that discovers new ones.”

A recent employee engagement survey at Connect showed that 98% of employees are proud to work for the agency – a statistic that helped the agency to be crowned Sales & Marketing Business of the Year at the Birmingham Post Business Awards and to pick up the Innovation Award for 2016 at the Express & Star Business Awards.

Knowles concludes: “Having both our Birmingham and Wolverhampton offices on the doorstep of train stations has had a big impact on recruitment. Our accessibility within the region and beyond, plus our fantastic personal development programme makes Connect an attractive employee prospect and we look forward to expanding our diverse range of talent.”
