The Drum's Social Buzz Awards winners: TMW Unlimited, Pottermore, We Are Social and more take home the trophies

On Wednesday (30 November), The Drum held its annual Social Buzz Awards to celebrate the most effective social media initiatives and strategies from brands, individuals and agencies across the UK.

Now in their sixth year, the awards bring together some of best and brightest minds from the industry under one roof to toast all they've achieved over the past 12 months.

The scheme was chaired by an esteemed judging panel featuring industry luminaries like Kat Brown the social media editor at Glamour UK, Kristian Lorenzon, head of social media at O2 UK and Wayne Bickerton, agency partner at Facebook who chaired the board.

Winning big on the night was We Are Social, which scooped the Agency of the Year gong, and TMW Unlimited which was presented with the Grand Prix for its 'Bigger Issues' project for Lynx, Unilever and Campaign Against Living Miserably (Calm).

Meanwhile, The Cogency scooped the Chairman's Award for the modern memorial for the Battle of the Somme, 'We're Here Because We're Here', which it developed for 14-18 Now to mark the centenary of WWI.

Following a public vote, the winner of the Social Buzz Individual of the Year was revealed to be Dom Smales, the founder and chief executive of influencer talent agency Gleam Futures.

Also taking home trophies were Starcom Mediavest Group, Manning Gottlieb OMD, and Pottermore - the latter of which claimed the prize for In-House Client Team of the Year. Elsewhere, Iceland Foods' #ComeOnIceland stunt was recongised as the Best Retail/E-Commerce Social Media Campaign of 2016.

A full list of this year's winners can be found on The Social Buzz Awards website.

This year's black-tie event took place at London's Marriott Grosvenor Square and were sponsored by BuzZoole, The Flash Pack and Tint.
