Twitter has accidentally suspended the profile of its own chief executive Jack Dorsey – just days after it moved to suspend far-right members.

Dorsey found himself muzzled for hours sparking incredulity amongst members who were treated to the message: ‘The account you are trying to view has been suspended,’ error message, before reappearing some three hours later to state that the move had been an ‘internal mistake’.

@Jack’s misfortune comes in the wake of a Facebook ‘glitch’ which saw it erroneously kill off millions of members, including founder Mark Zuckerberg, with the accounts prematurely memorialised en masse.

In recent days Twitter has suspended several accounts linked to prominent ‘alt-right’ figureheads amidst concern that it wasn’t doing enough to crackdown on hate speech.
