Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and John Lewis' wide-reaching Christmas campaign is always a surefire work to inspire parody.

Several brands released their own take on the 'Bounce Bounce' tale, featuring Buster the Boxer, that won hearts earlier this week - adapting levels of humour and slapstick the department store would not dare strive for.

Building around the discourse, the brands contributed to the wider reach of the John Lewis campaign.

Data analytics company Brandwatch said that between 7 and 9am on Thursday 10 November, the morning of the official ad's launch, there were 30,683 mentions of it on Twitter, supplemented by 25,603 mentions of #BusterTheBoxer.

Furthermore, mentions per minute peaked at 8:31 at 390.
