Last season, over 14,000 potential contestants signed up to audition via YouNow. During the nine weeks of auditions, millions of fans engaged via likes, comments and digital gifts totaling over 500,000 times.

“TV has long strived to break the 4th wall and allow for interactivity. America’s Got Talent and FremantleMedia are going a step further by allowing people to not just interact, but to participate. Using YouNow for auditions means more talented people have the opportunity to be discovered. The live streamed auditions are also content in their own right, generating millions of new interactive experiences that did not exist before,” said Adi Sideman, YouNow founder and CEO, in a statement.

For the past 11 years, “America’s Got Talent” has been the most watched summer series. The show was the No. 1 broadcast network series in both adults 18-49 and total viewers, with a season average of 13.5 million viewers.

“YouNow offers us a phenomenal vehicle that widens the pool of potential contestants for AGT,” said JR Griffin, vice president digital marketing and business development, FremantleMedia North America, in a statement. “In addition to enhancing our audition efforts, it’s simply fun to watch. The YouNow community loves to see the people who step up and take a shot at getting on the show.”

“America’s Got Talent” was created by Simon Cowell and is co-produced by FremantleMedia North America and Syco Entertainment.
