The next team to present in the now famous annual Blis Golden Shaker competition is team OMG with their creation: Another One.
The competition sees nine top media agency teams battling it out to find out who has the best cocktail making skills in the industry, with guidance from world famous mixologists - courtesy of Proof & Company.
OMG was this year represented by Mark Halliday, Lee Smith, Sybil Ng and Beth Hill who made a cocktail from a vodka base.
The winner will be crowned at the final in Singapore on the 17 November but leading up to that points can be amassed by generating social shares, so if this is your team, share away!
While the teams were busy creating their cocktail, we asked them two pressing questions about the future of the industry.
Mark Halliday, managing director of Accuen APAC, represented the team for the questions.
What’s the ‘golden’ opportunity in APAC for you?
We have so much innovation coming out of APAC. Often we look to North America or Europe for new technologies and solutions. Some of the most imaginative technology for e-commerce and retail is coming from our China and India teams and I think we should be looking to learn a lot more from these countries, rather than relying on the west for direction. There is a great opportunity for these countries to have a louder voice and dictate best practice throughout Asia and the rest of the world.
How would you ‘shake-up’ the industry if you could?
I think the industry needs a bit of a shake-up full stop. Media-land in Asia can be a little bit self-congratulatory and even a bit smug. When publishers, agencies and technology companies come together, we’re not making enough strides in the right direction to pick the entire industry up and impose better standards, regulations and practices. When experts come together, we should be talking about transformation, rather than engaging in mutual back slapping.
