Star Wars Rogue One hides cryptic messages in Imax ad
Disney has hidden some cryptic messages in its latest Imax trailers promoting its upcoming addition to the Star Wars franchise, Star Wars Rogue One.
The Star Wars cryptic messages
Some linguists sith(ted) through some messages scrawled in the ‘Aurebesh’ language in ads. After analysing the promotional materials, they pulled out a few choice messages that provide another layer to the marketing drive and tie in with the movie’s espionage theme.
These include: Join the Empire; Submit to our will; All power to the Empire; Crush the Rebellion in one swift stroke; This station is the ultimate power in the universe; There will be no one to stop us this time.
In addition to the hidden texts, the studio is giving US fans who take a selfie in front of the standees across the nation - using the #RogueIMAXsweeps - the chance to attend a preview screening in LA.
Nissan was the first brand (of many no doubt) to partner the movie - in a cinematic ad where a car is tested in a galactic war between the Rebels and Empire.
