VCCP has chosen former iCrossing chief media officer Sam Fenton-Elstone (pictured above) as its first chief digital officer for its media division.
He started this week and reports to VCCP Media’s chairman Paul Mead as well as chief executive Catherine Becker.
Prior to his appointment, Fenton-Elstone was a digital consultant. It followed a nine-year stint at global digital agency iCrossing where he rose through the ranks from paid search analyst to chief media officer. During that period he worked on campaigns for advertisers such as EDF Energy, L’Oreal and Apple.
Of his appointment, Fenton-Elstone said: “I am very excited to be joining VCCP Media, a truly integrated agency that challenges the industry to be better. Digital is crucial to the success of brand's marketing strategies and with the outstanding talent, unique insight and creative heritage of the agency; I am looking forward to delivering outstanding results for our clients.”
Becker added: “We are delighted to welcome Sam to our senior team at VCCP Media as our Chief Digital Officer. It was a real coup to attract such talent and, combined with the recent appointment of Marie Oldham as Chief Strategy Officer, puts us in the leading position as the challenger media agency who can truly integrate all parts of the communication mix”
