Twitter ads take over New York subways as potential buyers cool interest
Social media network Twitter has been in the news recently as a number of potential suitors including Google, Apple and Disney have seemingly dropped out of the race to aquire the company.
However, in the midst of this, the company has extended its ‘What’s happening?’ digital campaign into the real world across New York subway stations – which Recode rightly points out will land it before numerous commuting Wall Street investor types.
Twitter chief marketing officer Leslie Berland said the campaign aims to “better define and articulate what Twitter is for,” in a blog post for the company.
The colourful activations are reportedly placed along “Watts Street and Canal Street, 36th Street between 5th Avenue and 6th Avenue, and more.”
