Indonesian billboard porn arouses ad agency suspicion
Indonesian advertising agency Transito Adiman Jati has found itself in hot water after a jumbotron screen in the capital Jakarta began displaying pornographic images to bemused passers-by.
The unorthodox content prompted local police to question eight people from the agency in a bid to find the culprit as videos of the public screening of ‘Tokyo Hot’ went viral.
Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Awi Setiyono commented: “We have examined five computers and another one will be checked soon. I hope the investigation will reveal who played the video and whether there was intent to display the video.”
All employees suspected of the crime have surrendered their mobile phones for further analysis although some reports speculate that the incident could have been sparked by hackers.
Pornography is strictly regulated in Indonesia, which forms the world’s largest muslim-majority nation.
