Recently live streaming has taken on a new maturity. Facebook Live was a centerpiece of the Olympics coverage and other apps that make it easy to live stream are continuing to grow. There is even going to be a Live Fronts that Roker Media and BRaVe Ventures are producing in the fall.

Key decided to take his YouTubing to the next level by using Live.me to go live for two months so he can interact with fans in real-time. Live.me offers gifting opportunities, Snapchat-like stickers and real-time engagement with broadcasters. Found Remote interviewed Key about his mission to go live.

Found Remote: Why have you decided to go live? Why Live.me?

Collins Key: I’m always looking for new ways to connect with my fans, and Live.me allows me to do that in a very intimate way. There are no cuts or edits, it’s very raw and authentic.

FR: What are you looking forward to the most with the partnership?

CK: I am excited to have a way for my fans to comment live in the app, but what I am especially looking forward about working with Live.me is actually getting to call my fans and getting to know them.

FR: When did you realize you became big on YouTube?

CK: So much of YouTube is making videos by myself or with friends, so sometimes it doesn't even feel real until I meet my viewers in person! It's totally surreal. It's super exciting when one person comes up to me who likes my videos, so to know that there are over one million people who watch them...it's insane!

FR: Which video are you most proud of? Least proud of?

CK: I am super proud of the ostrich egg roulette challenge I did with Glozell because no one had ever done it before! And honestly, I can't say there's a video that I'm the least proud of because I put a lot of work into all my videos. I really try to challenge myself and put the best thing out there I possibly can each time I upload!
