Long-running Kansas City agency Bernstein-Rein (B-R) has upped its senior leadership quotient by adding former Mindshare Chicago managing director Steve Bullock. Bullock’s new role at Bernstein-Rein will be as EVP, director of insight & strategy.

Bullock’s deep industry experience includes working at major global advertising agencies as well as founding and building his own successful planning consultancy, which worked with iconic clients such as McDonald’s, Whirlpool, Scott’s Lawncare, Harley-Davidson, Campbell’s Soup, United Airlines, USG, Navistar, Dove and Sony.

“Steve brings us proven leadership in melding the insights of planning and analytics to inform stronger creative ideas and experiences, which deliver greater results for our clients,” noted B-R managing director Chris Perkins. “He is the ideal partner to help us in our ongoing mission to drive consumer participation with brands by finding and advancing cultural connections that matter – and expertly orchestrate their experience at the right place, at the right time, in the right way.”

At B-R, Bullock will bring together the agency's strategy and analytics practices. He will help build these capabilities through new services and the addition of new talent.

“B-R is on to something powerful with their positioning as a connections agency, which focuses on how to bring marketing ideas and experiences together to better connect brands, services and products with the right people,” explained Bullock. “I fully believe in this compelling approach and am looking forward to doing the best work of my life with B-R and its clients.”

Added Perkins; “As an agency with a strong entrepreneurial culture and a history in launching start-ups, Steve’s success in building his own business makes him a great fit for our agency.”

Bullock’s hire follows the announcement in June of Lara Wycoff’s hiring as the agency’s executive creative director and Bryan Michurski's appointment as group creative director in March.
