Donald Trump bets $8.4m on online ads after modest TV ad budget
The Donald Trump presidential campaign in July sank $8.4m into a digital marketing company, dwarfing Hillary Clinton’s $132,500 investment in the advertising medium.
Donald Trump has upped his online ad spend
Marketing firm Giles-Parscale saw Trump's online advertising spend increase eight-fold in July, upon June, as he attempted to attract more supporters on the internet, according to a recent FEC filing.
The GOP candidate last week unrolled his first TV ads for the campaign, raking up a modest spend of $4.8m, three times what he spent on ‘Make America Great Again’ merchandise in July.
In digital marketing, Bloomberg Politics is reporting Trump has massively outspent Clinton who has spent only $132,500 with Bully Pulpit Interactive - showing that his campaign does still have the financial power to challenge the Democrat.
However, Trump’s current online superiority can be challenged, Clinton super-PAC Priorities USA Action says it will invest $35m in digital advertising to combat Trump’s online strategy.
