Channel 4 has announced that Noel Edmonds' longstanding TV show Deal or No Deal will no longer be on screens come Autumn.

Deal or No Deal

Deal or No Deal will end this autumn

The once teatime staple has seen its ratings decline in recent years, attracting just around 300,00 viewers compared to its peak audience of four million in 2006. The 11-year-old show had also recently been moved from an afternoon slot to a daytime one.

But fans of Edmonds' floral shirts and unique presenting style need not worry; the programme is poised to have one last hurrah with the host undertaking a farewell tour of the UK, bringing the show's iconic red boxes to some of Britain's biggest landmarks.

The Endemol-owned format is credited with having revived Edmonds' career which peaked in the 90s thanks to shows like Noel's House Party.

Since it's launch in 2005 the show has gifted more that £40m in Prize Money, with Channel 4's chief creative officer Jay Hunt saying today: "A lot of the credit for that must go to Noel and his exceptional presenting. As the studio shows ends, I'm delighted he'll now be taking Deal or No Deal to the audience."

Edmonds will return to Channel 4 when the series endsfor with a new "big-money" studio game show in dubbed Cheap Cheap Cheap as well as two pilots.
