How Twitter ripped on Instagram’s Snapchat envy with its Stories feature
So in the dead of the night on Sunday Instagram ruthlessly copied Snapchat's Stories feature, even lifting the name, as Facebook looks intent on neutralising the threat of Evan Speigel’s disappearing images and video app.
A collection of tweets relating to #InstagramStories
Instagram unveiled Stories earlier this week, its very own ephemeral content service looking to capture life's moments, with its chief executive Kevin Systrom even going as far to say “[Snapchat] deserve all the credit” for the invention of the Stories platform.
So Twitter, which is without a Stories feature (yet), saw its users group together to call a spade a spade under #InstagramStories that trended as a result.
Here are some of the finest tweets on the subject.
Gary Vaynerchuk analysed the move.

The move saw #RIPTwitter also trend to a lesser extent, only a few in this thread saw significant engagement however.
Do you think Instagram Stories will harm Snapchat's growth or has the company just further diluted its unique selling point?
