Criteo has appointed former president of Taiwan-based Eastern Broadcasting Yvonne Chang to head up its APAC operations as executive managing director.
Yvonne Chang to lead APAC at Criteo
In this role she’ll be tasked with overseeing operations in Australia, China, India, Japan, South Korea and Singapore, where she’ll be based.
She will also be responsible for driving new business in Criteo’s less mature markets, such as Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
Chang commented, said that the trends around mobile and ecommerce in APAC put Criteo in a good position for growth in the region. Criteo cites research from eMarketer that found retail ecommerce and travel ecommerce sales in APAC are expected to exceed US$1,892 billion and US$254 billion respectively by the end of 2018.
In terms of Criteo’s own performance, it said Q1 2016 revenue in APAC grew by 52 per cent to US$38 million, meaning the region now accounts for one quarter of the company’s total revenue and making it Criteo’s fastest-growing region.
"Driven by an exponential increase in smartphone penetration, APAC is currently the world’s largest retail ecommerce market and second-largest travel ecommerce market. With such a healthy outlook and the diverse regional landscape, I look forward to working with some of the best talents in the industry to take Criteo to its next level of growth,” she said.
Prior to Eastern Broadcasting, Chang worked at Yahoo for over ten years, most recently as vice president of advertising solutions for APAC and managing director for India and Southeast Asia.
