ITV and AwesomenessTV debut youth targeted UK partnership

ITV, an integrated producer broadcaster and commercial television network in the UK, is partnering with AwesomenessTV, a multi-platform media company, to allow ITV2 and the ITV Hub to have exclusive UK premiere rights to AwesomenessTV’s long-form premium series. In addition, they will co-produce a new original series for the UK and international markets targeted to a youth demographic.

"AwesomenessTV has quickly grown into one of the most successful youth content companies in the world. The team has very successfully combined the best of YouTube with high quality production values to create great TV shows. We're delighted to be partnering with AwesomenessTV across ITV to produce, broadcast and distribute new shows for ITV2, the ITV Hub and international markets," said Simon Pitts, Managing Director of Online, Pay TV and Interactive at ITV, in a statement.

Through the partnership, ITV will create a “new extended weekend program for ITV2 beginning early 2017 — a show hosted by young talent and featuring the acquired scripted and unscripted AwesomenessTV series.” Initially, ITV has acquired 75 hours of shows from AwesomenessTV, which will increase to 100 hours in 2018.
