Former InMobi commercial director Ed Preedy joins GumGum as MD for Europe
Computer vision platform GumGum has appointed former Exponential and InMobi commercial director Ed Preedy as managing director for Europe.
Preedy is now MD for GumGum in Europe / GumGum
Based in GumGum’s London office, Preedy will be responsible for leading the company’s growth across the continent, establishing new offices in the major European territories and building partnerships with advertisers and publishers.
Preedy has almost 15 years' worth of experience in digital advertising, and has worked for the likes of Capital Radio, Rivals Digital Media, Exponential and more recently InMobi.
During his eight year tenure at Exponential, Preedy launched the first European office in the UK and grew the business by initiating the its first partnerships and campaigns across Europe.
"Ed has a proven track record of helping to launch and grow US businesses in the UK and Europe, as well as initiating and scaling large partnerships with agencies and advertisers," said Greg Pritchard, senior vice-president, international development at GumGum.
He added that the new hire's overall experience of building and managing multifunctional teams will be "hugely important" as the firm grows across Europe.
“This is an exciting time to be joining GumGum as the company continues to experience rapid growth. GumGum’s technology gives them a unique perspective and understanding of the increasingly image-centric nature of the internet, allowing for competitive advantage in digital marketing as it evolves,” said Preedy. “I’m very much looking forward to being a part of the team and leading their growth across Europe.”
GumGum, which works with brands including Dell, Weight Watchers and Sky on their in-image advertising, opened its London office last September. With this foothold, GumGum is now available across all of Europe with more offices planned across the region in the coming months.
