As the political world devolves into farce (see: Boris Johnson’s appointment as Britain’s foreign secretary), people are on edge. Donald Trump’s ascension isn’t helping either. Though some are taking a lighthearted, “I can’t believe this is happening” approach, the fact is it is happening. Being entertaining and controversial gets attention, but is this what we want as the not only the face, but leader of America?

Goodby Silverstein & Partners co-founders Jeff Goodby and Rich Silverstein have put that question to the test in a video, "Our Presdient," that they created with agency audio engineer Nic Dematteo. The execution is simple — slow motion footage of Trump, as he makes fun of Florida senator and former Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio in February at a Texas tour stop — but the message is stark, that he is clearly unqualified to be the leader of the free world.

“We wanted to put Donald Trump’s antics in clear relief for all the world to see and remind them that our president is the leader of the free world, the person with a hand on the nuclear button,” said Goodby. “That person should not and cannot be Donald Trump. Just look at him.”

As far as political statements go, it nails it right on the head. Sure, Trump might be funny (a bit of a stretch, let’s be honest), but there’s nothing funny about potentially denigrating the most important office in the land.
