Pokemon Go has become the talk of Tinseltown with rumours circulating that the studio behind The Dark Knight is set to turn the viral mobile app into a new film.

Legendary Pictures are reportedly in the final stage of agreeing terms to license the franchise for the big screen for a live-action interpretation.

The latest rumours were spurred by a report in Deadline but talk of producing some form of filmic Pokemon experience has long tantalised fans, with the latest burst of global Pokemon-mania however such aspirations are likely to be fast tracked.

Legendary have long experience at bringing franchises to cinemas and are best known as the studio behind Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight as well as the more recent Warcraft – although the latter may not be a template to emulate having tanked at the US box office.
