Mediacorp signs two-year deal with Outbrain

The deal will see Mediacorp use Outbrain’s ‘Engage’ tools to help drive better engagement with its own content, as well a monetise traffic, for two years.

The agreement will be live across Mediacorp’s two core news properties online Channel NewsAsia and TODAYonline.

Journalists at the company will also be able to use Outbrain’s editorial tool ‘Visual Revenue’ which allows users to see real-time content performance.

Low Boon Kiat, digital partnerships lead at Mediacorp, said; “Mediacorp is constantly looking at new ways to provide long-term value for our clients, and native offering is a good option from Outbrain. We look forward to deeper audience engagement using stronger analytics and real time content performance enhancement obtained from Outbrain’s Visual Revenue.”

In terms of monetisation, Outbrain effectively allows publishers to come together to benefit from driving traffic to one another by placing a content recommendation to other publishers within articles online.

In the region, this works by aggregating Mediacorp’s audiences with those from Outbrain’s previous local publishers and global deals, such as News Corp Australia, The Philippines Daily Inquirer, Indian Express, Fairfax, CNN, Time Inc and Mashable.
