Mr Robot turns to Facebook Live for promotional efforts

In a Facebook Live video posted last night (7 July), a masked member of fsociety - the hacker group led by mysterious Mr. Robot - provides details of the cliff hanger which fans have been debating since the end of season one.

The mystery stems from the ninth episode of the series when lucky freedom hacker Elliot met up with murderous corporate hacker Tyrell Wellick and revealed fsociety’s entire plan to destroy Wellick’s former employer, Evil Corp. The video ends with Wellick watching the destruction of Evil Corp while Elliot reaches into a popcorn maker which fans of the show know contained a key piece of the plot.

While the video just screened on Facebook Live doesn’t hint at what’s coming in the new season, it does answer a major question left dangling since season one.

USA Network’s decision to use Facebook Live as a promotional platform for the show is paying off having already racked up over 1.6m views.
