The Drum launches its first Kindle eBook with Reimagining Advertising
The Drum has made its first move on the Kindle platform, publishing Reimagining Advertising in the Amazon Kindle Store.
Reimagining Advertising, created in partnership with GumGum, features marketers reimagining seminal ads from the pre-digital age with all today's current digital tools at their disposal.
Marketers from companies including Karmarama, Ogilvy & Mather Group and Xasis rethought what some of the most famous ads of all time could become in today’s digital age.
The Kindle version of Reimagining Advertising, available globally from today, is The Drum’s first move into the platform, one set to become another core channel for engaging its global audience.
“The Drum is a global media platform and we want to offer our incredible content on every platform where our audience lives. Kindle is the latest in our push to ensure we deliver our content in every format possible,” said Gordon Young, co-founder, The Drum.
Reimagining Advertising sees marketers imagine what classic ads from the 1970s, 80s and 90s could be in today’s digital age. The ads reimagined were Go to Work on an Egg, Smash Martians, Pregnant Man, Labour Isn’t Working, The Gold Blend Couple, Yellow Pages’ J.R. Hartley, and Levi’s Laundrette.
As well as an affectionate look back at the work that has helped shape today’s advertising industry, the book features fascinating insights into how brands can most effectively engage people.
The panel of experts for Reimagining Advertising was: Gav Thomson, CMO, Paddy Power; Nicole Yershon, Director, Digital Solutions, Ogilvy & Mather Group; Malcolm Poynton, Global Chief Creative Officer, Cheil Worldwide; Jon Wilkins, Executive Chairman, Karmarama; Ross Sleight, Chief Strategy Officer, Somo; Nicky Bullard, MRM Meteorite, Incoming Chairman & Chief Creative Officer; Dom Burch, Former Senior Director Marketing Innovation and New Revenue Walmart UK (Asda); Milton Elias, Head of Mobile & Tech Futures, OMD UK; Nicolas Roope, Founder and Creative Director, Poke; and Caspar Schlickum, Chief Executive, Xasis EMEA.
