The energy drink brand has unveiled the London 2012 Olympic gold medallist boxer as its latest brand ambassador just days before he looks to continue his professional unbeaten run with a defence of his IBF title at London’s O2 arena on 25 June.

Joushua will work with Lucozade Sport throughout its campaigns encouraging the nation to become more active.

Lucozade Sport’s head of sponsorship, James Young, said he was “delighted” to have Joshua on board and described him as an “an outstanding athlete with tremendous fitness levels built from a variety of training techniques”.

“His desire to constantly improve is an inspiration to get the public moving more and lead more active lives. Keeping Anthony and others hydrated will help them get the most out of their exercise.”

Discussing the announcement the 26 year-old boxer said: “Everything I have achieved originates from a strong foundation of fitness and I pride myself on working hard in and out of the ring. There’s so much more to it than boxing training and I’m excited to have the opportunity to share with others how to get the most out of their bodies. Lucozade Sport have some brilliant plans for the future and I’m really looking forward to helping them inspire and improve the nation.”

The British boxer is proving an attractive figure for brands as he rises up the rankings of the world’s top heavyweight fighters. Earlier this year Under Armour singed him as a brand ambassador and betting firm William Hill recently signed a deal a deal with Matchrom Sport making it the title sponsor of his next three fights.
