With Wimbledon just days away official sponsor Jaguar is stepping up is activation around the tournament with the help of brand ambassador Andy Murray in a new ad testing the proficiency of world number two’s serve.

Building on the #FeelWimbledon campaign Jaguar has partnered with Scotland’s Andy Murray in a new ad which tests the tennis ace’s serving accuracy against a speeding Jaguar F-TYPE SVR.

Unbeknownst to Murray the disguised stunt driver behind the wheel of the cars is tennis legend John McEnroe.

In the challenge Murray attempts to hit a target on the car as it speeds past him along the famous Thruxton race track.

Discussing the challenge Murray said: “Trying to find an inch perfect serve at 130mph against the top players in the world is tough enough, but hitting a target racing past you at 160mph was the toughest and most unique match I’ve had.”

McEnroe, who revealed himself at the end of the challenge as the driver in Jaguar Racing’s test vehicle, said: “I wasn’t going easy on Andy. You can see from his reaction when he realised it was me. It was priceless! I’ve seen him react badly before, but nothing quite like that.”

The latest installment in the campaign, which was put together with the help of CAA Sports Consulting, builds on Jaguar’s earlier VR experience with Murray which gives viewers an on-court perspective of an animated Murray at the famous All England Lawn Tennis Club.
