Manchester City’s digital marketing focus has led the club to create an official Giphy page which will give City fans the world over more creative opportunities to show their support on social media.
The creation of the dedicated hub was made possible after the club partnered with the GIF search engine, which already has integrations with social networks like Twitter, Tinder and Facebook Messenger.
The Manchester City GIFs will also be incorporated into the searchable Giphy timeline, meaning fans will be able to use the search bar to find the City content when composing tweets.
The announcement illustrates the club's efforts to be seen as one of the most active and innovative in the Premier League in pushing forward digital innovation across its marketing. In April City became the first Premier League club to trial a live VR experience for selected fans during a fixture against Arsenal.
City’s owner, City Football Group, has also created a Giphy page for sister club New York City FC who were the first MLS teams to expand their social media reach to include the platform.
The new Manchester City Giphy page can be accessed here.
