Bowers most recently served as strategy director at OMD, before which he was lead planner at VCCP and head of planning at Weapon7. He will provide strategic leadership on Sony Mobile, following TMW Unlimited’s recent appointment as the brand’s global lead strategic digital agency.

Adam Knight has been promoted to the role of head of planning to oversee and manage TMW Unlimited’s 18-strong planning team. Knight replaces Bob Udale, who left the company in August last year. Previously planning director, Knight will continue his work on the Canon and McLaren accounts, reporting to Kate Wheaton, the director of strategy.

Andrew Robinson will now report to Adam Knight, also serving as planning director. Robinson, a former senior planner, will be strategic lead on Unilever and the digital advertising for Virgin Trains. Robinson previously held senior planning positions at Zone and Rapp.

Sally Schumacher has been promoted to data planning director, from her previous role as senior data planner. Schumacher has been tasked with increasing the focus on the strategic use of data across the client portfolio, as well as growing and strengthening the TMW data offering.

She will work across all clients, with strategic direction on Virgin Trains. Schumacher reports into data director Anna Foster.

Kate Wheaton, director of strategy said: “As our new Head of Planning, Adam blends a genuine interest in tech and innovation with a strong pragmatic streak – which makes him highly effective in getting interesting things done. He understands the value of collaboration and how to nurture a diverse, talented group of planners.”

Chris Pearce, chief executive of TMW Unlimited, said: “Our strategy department is at the core of the agency. Having such incredible talent enables us to provide the best strategic thinking for our clients, embodying our ‘Intelligent Influence’ approach to deliver excellent campaigns that are truly effective.”
