Manchester United paints children blue as its marketing plan mutates
English football side Manchester United activated a new stunt as part of its partnership with 21st Century Fox, turning four of its child mascots blue to celebrate the release of X-Men: Apocalypse.

On Tuesday’s fixture against Bournemouth, the final game of the season, child mascots took on a blue tint in honour of characters from the X-Men franchise such as Beast, Mystique and Nightcrawler.
It marks one of the clubs odder marketing moves, following on from a branded tractor and Deadpool video appearing earlier in the year.
With such marketing deals in place, the club’s success off the pitch has well outdone its performances on the pitch this season with it securing a 5th place finish.
Check out some of the stills captured at the game below.

In addition, each of the mascots carried the name of venerable X-Men characters on the back of their jerseys.
