Viceland, the TV network from youth media company Vice, has announced a series of executive hires bolstering its creative and production capabilities ahead of the channel’s UK launch in September.

Debi Roach has joined the company as vice-president of TV production EMEA, a newly-created role for the company that will see Roach oversee all production output for the channel across the region, including a slate of brand new Vice-produced UK programming.

In a 20-year career Roach has overseen a raft of productions for leading terrestrial and digital broadcasters across entertainment, scripted comedy and factual entertainment, with credits including Peep Show, Fresh Meat and Derren Brown's series and specials.

Cam Levin has joined as vice-president of brand EMEA. He will oversee audience, platform and social growth strategy as well innovating the channel’s creative billing.

Levin is a creative director and filmmaker and has previously worked at MTV International and Sky UK.

In addition, Dan Louw joins from the BBC as vice-president of development for Viceland UK. Louw is a former head of development in the BBC Documentaries department, where he was responsible for a slate including the Louis Theroux films, The Met, Life and Death Row and Don’t Take My Baby.

In April former Discovery Networks executive Arjan Hoekstra joined Viceland to oversee international growth as general manager EMEA.

Hoekstra commented on the new appointments: “As we develop and grow Viceland into an international operation across the region, we are assembling a world class team based out of our London studio. Debi, Cam and Dan all bring extremely diverse but rich experiences across their respective fields - what binds them, is an innate understanding of Vice's brand and programming, which will ensure our production, development and activation teams are operating at the vanguard of creative excellence."

Viceland launched in the US and Canada in February 2016, and will be launching on Sky in the UK and Ireland in September 2016, and in France in partnership with Canal+ in Q4 2016.
