Buoyed by the Premier League victory of his Leicester City team, its billionaire Thai owner is launching a talent show that could unearth the club’s next big star.

Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha's company King Power has launched Goal!, a X-Factor-style talent show in his country to find top teenage footballers, reports Sky News. The trials and tribulations of thousands of young Thai players will be documented in the show as they compete to win a two-year contract with the Leicester City academy and schooling in the UK.

The first trials have already taken place and the show is set to air in a prime-time Thai television slot later this year.

The news comes off the back of a profitable season for Leicester City on the pitch and the King Power brand off the pitch. The team’s Premier League victory has turned them into global stars and set it up to make more than £150m in commercial revenues, according to Repucom.
