Bosses from DigitasLBi, Cheil, Leo Burnett and more join Marketing Agencies Association board

The players across advertising, shopper, digital, planning and innovation will be tasked with bringing newly-appointed chairman Tim Bourne's strategy for change to life, with a focus on the MAA's 'Do Different' positioning.

Joining the board are: Kit Altin, head of innovation and global planning director at Leo Burnett; Mark Cowan, founder of Happen, 18 Feet & Rising's executive creative director Anna Carpen and Cat Davis, chief growth officer at Cheil for UK and Europe.

DigitasLBi's European chief Michael Islip will also take a seat, alongside, Sarah Todd, UK chief executive at Geometry Global, Richard Pinder, European chief executive at Crispin Porter + Bogusky and HeyHuman's managing partner Helen Weisinger.

Together the hold a selection of accolades, with 18 Feet & Rising's Carpen being the UK's youngest creative director and Happen founder Cowan having helped accumulate £46bn in revenue for clients. Collectively, the new board members represent a range of accounts from House of Fraser through to McDonald's.

The move builds on Bourne's promise to build a "larger and more diverse membership" in order to fuel investment in core MAA projects and training programmes.
